Electric 911 Porsche Turbo
It comes complete with a Tesla motor.
SEMA gets wilder every year, and is the barometer for car trends across the globe. This year we’ve seen some pretty wild entries ranging from hardcore off-roaders, all the way to dedicated track machines and everything in-between. The fact that our planet is dying hasn’t been ignored either: there have been tons of EVs strutting their stuff. The Porsche Taycan might be the first official electric Porsche, but there have been a few retro-fitted EV classics cruising around for a while now, and this is one of the cooler ones we’ve seen. Built by Electric GT, this Porsche 964 is the epitome of modern retromodding, and should perform even better than the original car thanks to some instant electric torque.
The best part about this build is that it’s not a ground up restoration/conversion that took months to complete, but is actually a package deal that converts any Porsche 911 912 or 964 into a fully-electric car. This package makes use of a tried and tested large Tesla drive unit with an AEM LDU control package paired with Electric GT’s own unique liquid cooled 47 kWh OXD-Power batteries. Electric GT also supplies all the other components necessary to make this EV transformation as seamless as possible, including a 400V EV system with the full harness, wiring, and plumbing for plug and play installation. The end result of this transformation is a healthy 436 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque that is instantly available. That power output should make this 964 feel much quicker than the original. The 964 Turbo 3.6 was famously used in the Bad Boys movie starring Will Smith.
